Penn Presbyterian Quality & Patient Safety Award for "Improving Hepatitis C Screening and Linkage to Care During Hospitalization"
April 2023Stepped wedge design of an EMR and logic-based intervention to improve the Hepatitis C screening rate for patients admitted to the hospital with birth year between 1945 and 1965. Tool resulted in an increase in HCV screening from 30 to over 70% resulting in 39 patients receiving treatment that otherwise would have been missed (confers a 50% decrease in mortality).
